As hotel and accommodation providers look to compete with the sharing economy, it’s paramount that we think beyond the bricks and mortar. More travellers seek to have unique and local experiences, so we’ve put this at the very heart of our brand. We do this in a variety of ways, ensuring they are beneficial to both the guests and the community.
• We collaborate with local artists and designers to create a space that is authentic to the location. These talents are carefully selected to ensure they align with our brand image and values. Our goal is to showcase their work and help provide an additional sales stream for the artists (eg a barcode is attached to their products so our guests can purchase the products online should they wish to). The benefits to us is that we get to create a space that is unique and locally inspired at a minimal cost.
• We offer a variety of bespoke events that provide local experiences for our guests whilst promoting the surrounding businesses. As an example, this may be music nights by local artists, cheese and wine tasting nights, Pilates or yoga sessions.
• Where location allows, our goal is to set up an inspiring co-working space. As more and more people work remotely, it’s a great added value for our guests. Our spaces are also available to the locals, generating further revenue for the hotel and building that sense of community.
• We contribute to community events, projects, and charities. This helps boost community relationships and also grows the hotel brand. Getting involved in the community allows us to capitalize on word-of-mouth marketing. Recommendations from local providers go a long way in driving guests to the hotel.
